Welcome back to OSU for spring quarter. This quarter's CGSA meetings will be focusing on the men in women who have shaped Christianity as we know it today. The spiritual giants of antiquity and modern day who have presented ideas and issues that have changed the church, the faith, and the world. To start the quarter we have Jack Watson coming to talk to us about a more recent theologian and author, C.S. Lewis.
Time and Place
We meet on Friday evenings at Royer Student Activities Center located on north campus next to Jones Graduate Tower. Come in the north doors and enter the room on the right at the top of the stairs. The Friday Night Meeting goes from 6:30 to 8:00 pm after which we go out for dinner at an inexpensive restaurant. Rides are available and all are welcome.
Upcoming Events
April 6th - Good Friday, a group of CGSAers will be meeting around the regular meeting time and heading out to a local church service. Feel free to join us.
April 13th - Jay Gamelin will be speaking on Thomas Aquinas.

This week's CGSA speaker will be Pastor Burke (Christina's Father). He will be speaking on the paradox of prayer. Join us for the last CGSA meeting of the Winter quarter!

March 12-15 - Ohio State's Winter Quarter Exam week, best of luck on your exams. We will not be having a regular CGSA meeting this week, or the following week (Spring Break). Watch your email for possible social CGSA gathering during this break.

This week's CGSA speaker is Greg Blosser, pastor at Grace Central Presbyterian church. He will be talking on the paradox of the existence of evil and the character of God.

InterVarsity Graduate Retreat
InterVarsity usually has a year-end retreat for graduate students in Ohio and Michigan. In past years it has been in May; this year, to make it more accessible to folks from quarter schools it is being scheduled for June 8-10. Would you please look at the brochure and tell Gary Nielsen (gary.ivcf@earthlink.net) as soon as possible one of the following:
(1) looks interesting and I will consider coming
(2) does not interest me
(3) ask me later--no time to think about this now

Our speaker this Friday night is a special treat: Dr. Kenneth G. Elzinga, Robert C. Taylor Professor of Economics at the University of Virginia. Dr. Elzinga, who is highly regarded both as a scholar and as a speaker, has mentored many students in their Christian faith. He will be sharing from his own life experience as he speaks to us on "Surprised by the Academy." You don't want to miss this opportunity; this will also be a good time to bring a friend to CGSA!
